I have just finished Anthony Horowitz’ Raven’s Gate, the first book in a series and thoroughly enjoyable. 14 yo Matt Freeman is a street kid on the verge of being sent to prison when he is instead made to spend time in the countryside. Little does he know that he is about to have a major role to play in some black magic and general adventure.
This is an entertaining read which would appeal to nearly everyone, I think. It has suspense, a series of believable characters and a general sense of evil which comes through, especially in the main female villain.
