			<title>PRINCIPAL'S REPORT</title>
			<link>http://bundabergshs.eq.edu.au/wcmss/index.php/latest/principal-s-report.html</link>
<description> Consultation last week with the community and students has allowed us to complete a draft four year strategic plan as part of the National Partnership Program. Responses to the draft will be sought from staff, students and parents over the next two weeks so it can signed off by 24th November. A P C meeting on Monday 23rd November will finalise this plan. I encourage parents and interested members of the community to attend and have an input into the future of this school.
Last week, the unveiling of the mural on B block was attended by a number of community members and students. I would like to extend my congratulations to Jodi Sinclair-Dunn and Tony Clearwater for their creativity around the design, and the Year 11 multi-arts classes for their efforts. This project would not have been possible without the Q150 funding.
Last week I was notified that the Bundaberg Regional Trade Training centre had been approved. This $11.8 million investment in this region will see eight State High schools have considerable upgrades in engineering, construction, horticulture, and hospitality. As well, there will be the establishment of an engineering and manufacturing Trade Training centre at TAFE where 30 students will be able to engage in an immersion program in engineering excellence commencing in 2011. I look forward to the support of our industry partners to proceed with this exciting venture.
Next week sees the graduation of our Year 12 cohort of 185 students. All students have been given every opportunity to succeed and achieve their goals. I thank the teachers and support staff for their efforts in ensuring students leave Bundaberg High School as productive citizens. I wish them well in their future.

Students need to be in attendance at school over the next four weeks to complete classwork and assessment. Reasons for absences will be sought from parents and carers by the year level co-ordinators and office staff. Students are expected to be in school until 3pm on the last day. I would like to also reiterate that any student who displays unsafe behaviour in these last few weeks will face consequences.

			<title>PRINCIPAL'S REPORT</title>
			<link>http://bundabergshs.eq.edu.au/wcmss/index.php/latest/principal-s-report.html</link>
<description>Students and staff have returned from a well-deserved break to a busy and hectic Term 4.
Our Year 12 students have only five weeks remaining before graduation. It is very pleasing to see them focused and on task to achieve the best possible results. Year 9 students have completed their QCATs and moderation for these will occur on October 19th. Year 9 Naplan results for this year will be sent to all Year 9 students.
It is pleasing to see improvement in this year results in 4 out of the 5 areas. Subject selections for 2010 are being finalized in the next two weeks for all year levels. Students are also participating in The F1 in Schools competition as well as all schools touch competition.
This term sees the beginning of our 4-year journey as a National Partnership School.
We are earmarked as a National Partnership School because of our identified social disadvantage, not low performance. In order to deliver improved students outcomes we are seeking feedback from all of our community to develop a 4 year Strategic Plan. Consultation is being held with staff, students, parents and key stakeholders.
I would like to invite parents and the wider community to a Futures Forum to be held on Monday 2nd November at 10.00 am to 11.30am in the hall to seek further feedback.
Already we have received $560,000 for this semester to commence planning and brokering programs to address our specific targets in literacy, numeracy, pathways, school attendance, school disciplinary absences and indigenous
outcomes.
This is a most exciting time for our school. I have never in my teaching career seen so much support to improve student outcomes and meet the needs of our students. Both the staff and myself are enthusiastic and committed to this journey.
On Wednesday 28th October we will be conducting our Awards Night at the Moncrieff Theatre. I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible on the evening. </description>
