International students

Bundaberg State High School has a personalized International program.  Being a regional school  we can offer experiences which the larger schools cannot.

Staff and students at Bundaberg State High School welcome overseas guests for both long and short-term study periods.  We value the experiences and cultural differences which International Students bring to our school, homestay families and to the community.  International Students take home memories and friendships made at Bundaberg State High School which will last a life-time.
We also host study tours with our Sister Schools every year and are aware that cultural diversity changes as every year goes by.  To date we have hosted  International Students from various countries including:  Italy, Brazil, Japan, Germany, Indonesia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Norway, Belgium and the United Kingdom.  The students’ reasons for selecting Bundaberg State High School?
  • our extensive curriculum choices
  • our sporting achievements
  • our rural heritage
  • our close proximity to one of the seven natural wonders of the world – the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef  - which is on our doorstep
  • feeling safe
  • close to beaches

Our Homestay Families are both very friendly and accommodating for their International Students who come to live with them.

Bundaberg is accessible by car, bus, plane or train.
