Within Career Education, students will be required to participate in Mock Interviews and Work Experience. Students will require a laptop device to be able to respond to a job advertisement by preparing a suitable resume and cover letter. Mock Interviews aims to help students prepare for interviews from job applications that they prepare and submit.
The Work Experience program is run over 5 days, where students will participate in a normal working day in the job/industry they have sourced. Resources are available to help students locate their own work placement. Students will need to complete the Work Experience Placement Application form, and when returned, a school representative will contact the school to confirm the placement. After confirmation of placement, the school will prepare the Work Experience Agreement. This agreement establishes a work experience arrangement under the Education (Work Experience) Act 1996. This form may also be used for the purpose of managing insurance coverage. Both programs are key aspects of the year 10 career program, and are essential tools in getting students ready for the world of work.
