Bundaberg State High School has numerous families wishing to host International Students. Some of these parents live in town, others live in close proximity to our beautiful beaches, and others live in country (bush) settings.
All of our homestay families complete a government criminal history check and their homes are inspected to ensure that students will be comfortable for their stay in the Bundaberg region. Education Queensland International has a very strict 'checklist' of standards which potential homestay parents must adhere to. For example, homes are inspected to ensure cleanliness, that students have their own rooms and preferably own bathroom (or shared with a host brother or sister), that there are internet and phone facilities available – just to name a few.
Once a student is placed with a homestay family, we send a 'Homestay Profile' sheet to either your Agent (if one is being used) or yourself. This profile also contains pictures so you can see the home which has been selected for you during your stay.
