The school library is an integral part of Bundaberg State High School, with a large range of print resources as well as managing the audio-visual resources, including Clickview.

The building itself has a number of learning spaces, including 2 enclosed rooms and other open spaces. Students have access to laptops and printing facilities.

Dedicated staff are always available to assist students and staff with requests and assistance with the use of equipment.

Avid readers are catered for with a reading group which meets regularly to discuss trends and books.

Term 4 in 2010 saw the beginning of the refurbishment of the library as part of a State Schools of Tomorrow project. This involved removing asbestos, replacing furniture, re-orienting the building so that the entrance faces the school and extending class spaces.

The project has now completed and we have already seen noticeable rewards – increased student patronage, especially during the breaks and increased borrowing of resources. The purchase of a wide range of interesting reading materials has lead to more student and staff borrowing, especially of fiction, which has been very pleasing.
