IGNITE is an alternative program that is aimed at students in Years 7-10 who are at risk of, or have disengaged with mainstream education for a variety of reasons. We explain this to our students- everyone here has their own battles and we need to be respectful of them- not necessarily knowing why they are here.
Our primary focus is to promote equity by identifying, analysing and planning support responses to mitigate identified characteristics, issues or presenting conditions, allowing students to re-engage with education.
The IGNITE philosophy acknowledges that all students are entitled to a quality education, delivered by high quality teachers in an environment that is safe and supportive of individual needs. Addressing students as a whole and offering opportunities for personal growth is also a large part of our program.
