Library News, Term 1 2022
It has been an extremely busy and chaotic start to the year, like everywhere! The exciting part (for us) is that we have moved into the top floor of the new building and nearly all of our furniture is in place! We have been busy unpacking boxes, sorting out stuff and trying to work with what we have. There have been mad rushes of students here most breaks and that is great to see!
What are they doing? Reading, playing chess and boardgames, playing Minecraft, doing homework and assessment… all of that and more, in no particular order.
As a special treat for the end of term, we broke out the Wii and the students had a great time playing golf, baseball and ten pin bowling. Next term we will start our eSports program in earnest!
Readcloud
The other development this year has been the introduction of Readcloud, a platform which contains student textbooks as well as other school policies. Not every student has access to a digital textbook (yet) but if they do, they should be accessing it via Readcloud. They can have the app on up to 6 devices and it has a lot of features designed to make accessing the texts easier including an immersive reader.
Stay tuned for more news next term!
